Uncreate Beauty

Temples Walking Around Everywhere

Sep 1, 2020

Saying For Today: All contact with Beauty is an invitation to reverence, to worship in the Soul, the unseen Temple of ceaseless quiet and timeless repose.

We are Many & We are One

Brian Wilcox 'We are Many & We are One'

Where shall you seek beauty, and how shall you find her unless she herself be your way and your guide? And how shall you speak of her except she be the weaver of your speech?

*Kahlil Gibran. "Beauty," in The Prophet.

UNCREATE BEAUTY

I was lost until You touched me
by what fingers I know not

I know not for what purpose falling through words
You whispered into my ears and sprouting wings,
my prayers, I knew silence within the sound

One with sound within the silence then You
unfurled the many-hued canvas
and for the first time I realized
the colors of uncreate Beauty that drew me to
Your Face

To an inarticulate summons, a sensing, a seeing of Home
within the eyes of every other whom my eyes had ever met eye-to-eye
and through whom I admired You without knowing
for I know not

But I,
seeing feeling being living dying worshipping praising
one blood flowing in the veins of everyone - brother, sister, God!!

And inside this Love
I died and died

How does one go on living after seeing
This?

Temples are walking around
everywhere

God is pure beauty. This is incomprehensible, for beauty, by its very essence, has to do with the senses. To speak of an imperceptible beauty must seem a misuse of language to anyone who has any sense of exactitude: and with reason. Beauty is always a miracle. But the miracle is raised to the second degree when the soul receives an impression of beauty which, while it is beyond all sense perception, is no abstraction but real and direct as the impression caused by a song at the moment it reaches our ears.

*Simone Weil. Love in the Void: Where God Finds Us.

When sensitized to Spirit in the world, the heart living close to Grace's breathings and breezes, one experiences subtle uprisings bodily of felt-Beauty. One can rest quietly, soaking in this sense-of-Beauty, like one turns the face to the Sun and makes love with the Sun. This Beauty is not what persons call beautiful. That named beautiful is Beauty's mirror and means, the One most-beautiful and Fount of Beauty. All contact with Beauty is an invitation to reverence, to worship in the Soul, the unseen Temple of ceaseless quiet and timeless repose. And one discovers in being found by Beauty - for no one can find Beauty -, she is found by Love, even as when found by Love, she is found by Beauty.
